CMStep is an innovative, multidisciplinary graduate program for teachers interested in creating hands-on curricula and field studies for students ages 12-18. The program involves the mastery of an established body of curriculum and a thorough understanding of the philosophy, program structure, and specific instructional strategies needed by the educator to establish a Montessori secondary program. In addition, there are opportunities for personal transformation through field studies, experiential courses, coaching, and supervision.

What does it mean to be AMS trained?
If you want to work in a Montessori school you need a Montessori diploma. There are many different training programs around the world but not all are accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE). If you want to have more information you can visit their website. Not all trainings are accredited by MACTE meaning that the choice of your formation is crucial. Not only does it assure the quality of your learning but it will be your passport to work in Montessori Schools around the world. The wrong formation might close some doors to you and some schools will only recruit teachers who have undertaken a training recognised by MACTE because they seek an accreditation themselves. Choose carefully if you don’t want to waste your time and money.
What Is MACTE?
MACTE stands for Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education. Founded in 1995, it is dedicated to improving academic degree and certificate programs for Montessori professional educators who teach and lead in schools at the Infant and Toddler through Secondary II levels and to assure the public of their quality.
